ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A Clayton County Sheriff’s Office deputy has been arrested for allegedly abusing his Flock camera privileges.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) said it took Erroll Farrell Jr., 40, into custody. He faces a charge of misuse of a license plate reader system.

The GBI said the sheriff’s office asked it to look into the accusations. Farrell allegedly used the system for reasons unrelated to his job.

Farrell turned himself in on Tuesday and has since been booked in Clayton County Jail.

In the past few months, dozens of law enforcement officers in Georgia and across the country have been fired, arrested or have resigned after they were accused of using Flock cameras for personal reasons.

Most recently, three Hall County deputies resigned after an audit revealed their searches, the sheriff’s office announced on Tuesday.

That same day, the GBI said a Georgia Department of Corrections special agent was arrested and charged with misuse of a license plate reader system.

The investigation into Farrell is ongoing, the GBI said.
